Planning: Sound
Planning Sound:
The sound I plan yo use in my thriller consists of the following:
The sound I plan yo use in my thriller consists of the following:
- Diegetic sound will be used when the older girl is walking and talking to someone on her phone. I have choosen to use this to show the audience that she is not expecting anything that is going to happen to her . This is conventional to thriller as this makes the audience feel like the female victim is safe but in acctual fact she is in alot of danger.
- Non-diegetic sound will be used in the opening credits when you hear a news report about a little girl being killed in a car crash. I have choosen to use this hear because it gives a quick piece of important information to the audince that they may miss or see. This is conventional as most thriller give the audience hidden messages about the plot of the film.
- Non-diegetic sound will be used in the opening when slow music is played over the opening. I have choosen to use this because it gives at atmoshpere of sadness and creates suspence for the audience. this is conventional as it is creating suspence for the audience and making them think about what is going to happen next.
- Diegetic sound will be used when the tap is running when the older girl is washing her face. I have choosen to use this here to create suspence as there will be no sound except the sound of the water running from the tap. This is conventional as it is creating suspence and making the audience feel like the person on screen is in danger.
- Diegetic sound will be used when the audience see the mistory antagonist watching the female victim this is to make the audience feel like the female victim is in danger and make them feel like they are there and watching her aswell. This is conventional as it is making the audience feel emotion towards the female victim.
Planning: Opening scene narration
Planning Opening Scene Narration:
The film begins with the opening credits played over a home movie of a little girl playing in her room the home video has a news report saying a little girl has died in a car crash played over it and makes the audience feel on edge after the home movies we see a older girl sitting on her bed with her boyfriend the boyfriend then gives her a gift she opens it and finds he has given her a new car the scene ends with the audience seeing a flash of the the little girl and after a flash of light that fades into the next scene.
The scene begins with us seeing the older walking down the road and on the other side of the road there is a girl walking and she takes a glance and sees a doll she then looks again and all she see is the women walking no doll as she then shakes her head and keeps walking the camera then goes to the POV of someone watching her from behind a tree.She then continues to walk and gets home as she walks into her front garden at her front door there is a doll she then picks it up then remembers where she has seen the doll before and panics and rushes inside the house.
When she arrives home she runs in panicing and goes up stairs to wash her face to try to calm down and she enters the bath room and washes her face her breathing slows and lights go off in her bath room they come back on she looks up to see that the little girl from the home videos is watching her behind her and the older girl then screams and faids to black and then we see the older girl and the little girl in the bath rocking back and forth they then quickly switch places the older girl then get out of the bath and gets closer and closer to the camera and then the screen goes black.

Why is character representation imprtant:
Character representation is import as this is the is how the audience are going to view your character the way that you represent your chatacters will dettermine the way that the audience are going to view your character. Also the way you represent your character will determine th relationship the audience has with them that is why it is important that you represent your character in as many different ways as possible. The way that you represent your character helps the auience understand or give them an idea of the narrative of the film so it makes it easier for the audience to understand what the film is about.

Gender Stereotype of Role: Subverting role as the antagonist but is also traditional as the character is a child.

Hair and Make up: Extensions, White powder to make her look pale, Running make up and messed up hair.
Body Language and Facial expression: Limp body and emotionless facial expression.
Represented as: Shes is represented as a stalker that is out for revenge on the person who killed her she is clearly represented as a ghost as she is pale and has messed up hair. Her clouths are light colours but this is not used to make her look innocent it is used to make the audience see she was a sweet innocent girl before she was killed.
Role within the narrative: She is a little girl who was killed in a car crash and has now come back to get revenge on the girl who killed her.

Gender Stereotype of Role: Subverting the stereotype of the female victim being a white female but is also traditional as she is a female.

Body Language and Facial Expression: Jumpy and scared body language and a happy and then terrified facial expression.
Represented as: The caharacter is represnsented as a normal girl getting tormented by a mistery antagonist but it is then revealed that she has secret that have caused the anatagonist to come back to gt revenge on her which makes her then become a mesterious character.
Role within the narrative: she is a girl in her late teens walking home and then is begin to be tormented by a mystery antagonist who is out to get revenge on her for something that she has done.

Planning: Pre-production Paperwork
Importance of Pre-production Paperwork:
The importance of preproduction paperwork is that it allows everyone involved to know what days they are need and how long the health and saftey risks involved with filming and proof of agreements that we can use the location and actors.
What is a Production Schedule and why is it important:
A production schedule is the time table for the times and days that the people invloved in the filiming process of the thriller opening. It is important to have this and give it to everyone involved so they where they have to where they have to be and for how long they rae going to be there so they can plan around the days the need to have free for filming.
What is a location Recce and why is it important:
A location recce is giving evdence of where we are filming and to get an idea of where we are going to be filiming this is important as it gives us an idea of the locations we will be filming at and shows people where we ar going to be if they need to find us.
What is a Risk Assessment and why is it imporntant:
The risk assessment shows the people to taking part in the filming the risks involved when making the film it is important to show this to everyone involved so they know the risks that will be involved when they are involved in the filming process.
What is a Cient Release form and why is it important:
The client release is given for is given to the people that we are going to bring into the filming process and is given to them to sighn of that shows proof that they have agreed to take part in the filming this is important as if anyone needs to see permission for the actor to be on camera we would not have the proof they have agreed with out this form.

She then tells him that it is her lucky braclet and she then drops it Lashane then tells her he will go and get it the scene ends with him finding the braclet on the floor.

I was the camera man and editor, Chardelle was the actor and dierector an Lashane was also the actor and producer.
Difficulties we ecountered whilst filming:
We encounter a few difficulties while filming the main difficulty was alot of people were getting in our shots so this caused problems when the scene was playing out the other difficulty that encountered was the noise around the academy this sound made it hard to hear what was happening in the scene.

- A blur edit will when the older girl is washing her face. I have choosen to use this edit because it gives the illusion for the audience to see what she is seeing this so it they will then feel like they are in her shoes and feel the emotions that she is feeling. This conventional to thriller films as it is used to make the audience feel the way that the character is feeling by showing what they are seeing and the blurred vison is used to make the audience feel on edge about what is about to happen to the character.
- Im going to use a cross dissolve to quickly show a news reporter reading news about a girl that has been hit by a car. I have choosen to use a cross dissolve to quickly give the audience a peace of important information about the plot to see if they will be able to link this to the plot of the opening and fingure out how the older girl and younger girl are related. this is conventional to the thriller genre because it s giving a small piece of information without tell the whole stoy to the audience so they become curious and then want to watch more.
- Im am going to edit in a flash after the light zoomes into the girls face. i have choosen to do this because it brings a dramatic ending to the first part of the thriller openig and makes the audience curious about what happened to the little girl. This is conventional to the thriller genre because it makes the audience want to watch more to find out what has happened to the little girl.
- I am going to use a fade to black at the end of the thriller opening and then show the title of the film. I have choosen to use a fade to black as it does not give a clear ending to the thriller and makes the audience curious of what is going to happen next. This is conventional to thrillers as it is leaving the audience curious and wanting to know what is going to happen next.
- I am going to use a fade to black also the older girl is going to be possessed by the little girl. I have choosen to use a fade a black here as it shoing that the girl has come back to get the older girl but makes the audience guess what the little girl is going to do to the older girl.

We aregoing to use low key lighting through out our thriller opening because low key lighting is the most typical lighting expected to be in a thriller by a audience because low key lighting represents danger and keep the audience on edge because they can not clearly see what is happening or clearly see what is happening in a scene or cant clearly see the antagonist this keeps the audience on edge as they dont know what is going to happen next because the situation is not clear to them.
Setting:
Our thriller will be set in a swing park and a family home because the swing park in scene as a safe place for children to play and have fun but we are portraying it as a scary haunted park where are female victim is being tormented by the little ghost girl who is the antagonist in the thriller this will make the audience feel fear because they dont see childrens play grounds as unsafe place so this will catch them off guard as they will not expect a childrens playground to be like that. We are using the family home because this setting is typical to the thriller genre this setting has been used in many films such as scream and paranormal activity. This setting is typicaly used because people see there home as somewhere that is safe and they can not be harmed but the setting is usualy used to catch them off guard and show that the victims home is the most unsafe place they can be this is the reason a we are using this setting to always keep the audience guessing.

We are going to use a doll as the iconography in our thriller as this is related to the little girl we are using in our thriller because when the older girl sees the dollshe recognizes it and then realises what is going on and this makes her become terrified and thwn run home also the doll is then seen with the little girl the first time you see her and then you realise how the older girl and the little girl are related.

The cinematography I plan to use in my thriller opening consists of the following:
The cinematography I plan to use in my thriller opening consists of the following:
- A POV will be used when the older girl has run home scared and runs upsatirs I her house to wash her face. I have chosen to use a POV shot here as the water affect it could have by editing it in will add suspence as she slowly brings her face up to look in the mirror and see the little ghost girl in the mirror. This will be affective as the vision of the older girl so it will add suspence as the older girls vision is blurred and you can see the blurred figure of the little girl. This is conventional to the thriller genre because it is used to create suspence and keep the audience on edge and make you feel you be able to feel like you are in their shoes and make the audience feel the way that they are feeling in the scene.
- A reaction shot is going to be used when the older girl sees that the little girl watching her in the mirror. I have chosen to use a reaction as it shows the yhe emotions of the older girl in alot of detail so you can clearly see how she is feeling. This is conventional to the thriller genre because this is used to clearly put across in alot of detail how scared the girl is and get the audience to react the same way that she is.
- A zoom will be used at the end of the opening credits to zoom into the little girls face. I have choosen to use a zoom here because it puts across that something is coming towards her and also clearly shows her recation to what is going to happen i alot of detail. This is conventional to thriller as it is used to make the audience clearly see how scared the little girl is and make them feel the same way the she is.
- A pan will be used when the girl is walking past the swing park. I have choosen to use a pan hee because it shows the full body of the feamle victim clearly for the first time and also shows where she is. This is conventional to the thriller genre because it is used in many other thrillers to show the audience the charcater and the area around them and this gives the audience of the idea the character is in for example if the character is walking through a dark allyway the audience will then know that the character is in danger.
- Tracking is also going to be used when the older girl is walking. I have choosen to use this as when tracking the camera is closer to the girl so you will be able to see the way she is reacting to the situation clearly through her emotions and her body language.
